Canberra, Australia's capital, is a sweeping city of cultural institutions, government agencies and tree lined streets. But beyond the veneer is a city struggling under the deepest economic crisis since the Great Depression. The first state or territory to go into technical recession, the Capital and its residents traverse the city's streets with the weight of that gloom. Canberra photographer Lannon Harley has spent the past twelve months photographing the city streets. Capital Volume 1 is a photographic examination exploring the streets of our Capital.
